New York-based
designer Anne Moore was born with a natural eye and talent for design.
Moore has never studied fashion design in the formal sense – her “education”
began as a young girl when she began sewing and creating accessories.
Her career as a milliner took flight in 1986 when she cut up a velvet
dress and made hair bows – hair bows so intricate and well designed
that the fashion editors from The
New York Times Magazine, Vogue
and Tatler featured them
on full pages. Her career was launched. Thus started the business that
would grow to make Anne Moore a milliner to women of all ages around
the world.
Her millinery
designs were featured exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman with prime Fifth
Avenue window displays. After her first season, the hats and bows were
wholesaled to major U.S. and U.K. Department stores, from Neiman-Marcus
and Macy’s in the States to Harvey Nichols and Whistles in London.

Moore opened a New York flagship store in 1987, followed by another freestanding boutique in the resort town of Southampton, New York. In 1996, Moore traveled between Brazil and London, where she immersed herself in the high-profile sports management world with Brazil’s equivalent of IMG. In 1999, the siren of design and, most importantly, her clients’ requests called her back to America. Moore opened a successful boutique in Bridgehampton, and launched a catalog business and a website, www.AnneMoore.com.
Anne Moore’s company has always been steered by her, from the design and wholesaling to the public relations and merchandising. Moore’s talent for whimsical yet practical and chic design transcends millinery and has enabled her to successfully design and produce purses, shawls, gloves, jewelry and made-to-order clothing. “She has a wonderful sense of whimsy and style.” - Candy Pratts Price, VOGUE |

Moore’s
designs (without the aid of a publicist) have received voluminous
publicity generated by the products themselves as well as her celebrity
clientele. Moore’s designs are not only elegant toppers and sun-blockers,
they have also become celebrity must-haves. Madonna, Sharon Stone,
Kim Basinger, Julia Roberts, Isabella Rossellini, Bernadette Peters, the
late Princess Diana and the late New York society doyenne Brooke Astor
are among those who have sported
Moore’s creations and generated “free publicity” for her designs.
Jack Nicholson and Richard Gere are among the many men who shop
at Anne Moore. Oprah
Winfrey, a top private client, declared Moore her favorite milliner,
thus opening up another diverse client base. The
genius behind Moore’s creations lies in that they are not only for
celebrities and special functions --- the line ranges from truly
Mad Hatter delicacies designed for a day at Ascot to simple, beautiful
designs that block the sun --- they are for any woman who wants
that extra oomph of style. |

In
addition to numerous print publications, Moore has appeared on-camera
on The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN’s Style with Elsa Klensch, and major
network television style news segments. Her designs have been used in
major feature films, commercials and advertising campaigns.
Moore
was educated in New York, London and Paris, and has lived in England,
France and Brazil.
